Charlie Thornton

Originally from Hartwell, Georgia, Charlie has lived and worked in the Upstate of South Carolina his entire professional career.

Charlie served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1970 including a 13 month tour of duty in Viet Nam. He understands the struggles of a returning war veteran first hand.

Upon leaving the Marine Corps, Charlie returned to college, graduating in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia.

He has served the Anderson community since 1973 as a Certified Public Accountant with a local CPA firm.   Charlie is very active in volunteer organizations and has served as Chairman of the United Way, Anderson Chamber of Commerce, Anmed Health and served in various roles with other local charities and organizations.

Charlie is married to his childhood sweetheart Susan Ayers Thornton. They have two children and four grandchildren.
